Each suite has an enclosed sleeping area. This is thermostatically heated ensuring your cat will always be warm and cosy. In the warmer months the cattery is air conditioned so you can be sure whatever the weather your cat will be happy and comfortable. We provide beds and soft bedding but you are welcome to bring your cat’s own bed for familiarity. All our suites are on one level ensuring all cats have easy access to all the facilities. A cat flap links the sleeping area to the exercise run.
The exercise run is where the cat’s food, water and litter trays are kept. We also provide toys and scratching posts for their entertainment. Each pen is equipped with shelves for climbing and relaxing. The shelves are staggered to allow access to all guests, including the young and the elderly. Guests are welcome to bring their own toys from home if they wish.
We have a variety of dry and wet foods available to suit your cat’s normal diet. If your cat has a special diet you are welcome to bring food for the duration of their stay and we are happy to feed it to them. Cats are generally fed two times a day although we are happy to accommodate other schedules if required. We have a supply of cat treats and like to give our guests a few while we are playing with them, with your permission.
Each suite has shelves to explore and relax on. We also provide additional activities for our guests, our scratching posts have a den attached where cats can hide, and we have an assortment of toys available for play. All toys and scratching posts are cleaned between guests.
We spend quality time with each cat in our care as interaction relieves stress and boredom. We play with guests and spend time handling and grooming them.
We have pheromones available to help the more anxious guests settle in and relax, these are in the form of Feliway products.
All cats must be vaccinated against flu (feline herpes virus and feline calicivirus) and enteritis (feline panleucopenia). The vaccine must be current and we require a copy of the vaccination certificate for our files.
For cats who require the vaccinations you will need to arrange this with your veterinarian prior to their stay. They will need two vaccines, three weeks apart and the course should be completed 10 days before coming to the cattery. This is to ensure that the immunity has been built up.
For cats who have had the primary course, please ensure they have had their annual booster at least 7 days prior to their stay at the cattery. If an annual booster is more than three months overdue your vet will need to start the course again.
We keep daily records charting each cat’s litter box activity, feeding record, play and general wellbeing. This is to ensure that we are aware of any problems and we can react to situations accordingly. You are welcome to see a copy of our record when you collect your cat. We also update our Facebook page daily with pictures of our guests so you can check in on them while they are in our care. We are also happy to keep you updated by e-mail or you are welcome to call us anytime.
